Editorial Review

If the hot pink window shutters of The Food Business are opened to reveal George at the espresso machine, you are in business. His coffees are as snappy and stylish as his shirts. Hustle inside and enjoy his charm while you choose what to elegantly feed your face with from the many scrumptious offerings. You may feel compelled to nosh your way through several in quick succession, but that wouldn't be an attractive sight in such a pretty eatery. Shades of pink paint also highlight the cake cabinet, made even more lovely with the blush of some Japanese lilies.

Floor to ceiling windows give the room a light and relaxed aura. Cafe-style tables with linen napery are nicely spaced on timber floorboards and a chic feature wall of textured brown leather continues down onto banquette seating. This is a good vantage point to see whose well-heeled feet are walking through the front door. Settle in for some tete-a-tete and pop the cork on a bottle of Dom Perignon but if your piggy bank isn't that generous, a bottle of Billecart Salmon will have to suffice. Breakfast on brioche French toast soused with cinnamon sugar, buttered apple and sour cream. If you enjoyed one too many the night before then take advantage of the Berocca on the menu. Be resourceful - drop a Berocca into your glass of Billecart to put extra effervescence in your fizz. Catching up on gossip may take you into lunch, so seek symbolic revenge on stubborn piggy banks and order the crispy-skin pork belly with pickled plums and caramelised pear. A side of cabbage and Heidi Gruyere gratin should square things off.
